Pt. Rajan and Pt. Sajan Mishra, one of the most famous musicians of India are exploring music and quenching the thirst of music lovers across the globe. I was aware of the fact that sons of Pt. Rajan Mishra, Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra are being trained under the guidance of both of these maestros. I was searching an opportunity to attend the concert by these young representatives of Mishra family.
This opportunity came down to all the music lovers of Pune city through the gracious platform of Sawai Gandharva Music Festival. So as soon as I came to know about the performance by Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra, I booked my evening for the same. Before starting the actual performance, Pt. Rajan Mishra came forward
and requested the audience to give their blessings to the young generation. After this, Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra came over the stage to start the performance.
They chose to sing Raga Jog to start the concert with. Audience within moments came to know the level of maturity of Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra. Both of them have a rich and earned voice which can roam freely in three octaves. The voice of both the brothers had a depth, profoundness and soothing effect. Indian classical instrumental music is well secured now due to exceptional efforts taken by all the maestros. I was a bit worried about the future of vocal music. After listening to the performance of Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra, I was relaxed. Indian Vocal Music has some strong pillars which will be growing and expanding for years.
